Stunned 30-20 by the Blues last weekend, Hurricanes coach Jason Holland faces some big decisions ahead of Sunday’s clash against Super Rugby champions the Crusaders.
Those decisions revolve around two of New Zealand rugby’s finest - loosefoward Ardie Savea and fullback
Jordie Barrett.
Savea returned to action last weekend after 33 weeks on the sideline because of knee surgery and played off the bench, while Barrett missed the match altogether.
While Barrett will probably sit out the match against the Crusaders again, Holland will be tempted to start Savea.
The coach says of his backrow ace: “He’s just growing in confidence every day. It’s been a long time since he played some footy.
“[But] the last 25 minutes [against the Blues] he was the Ardie we all know, he was into it and a menace at rucks and carrying like a lunatic. He was good then.”
