Unpopular Newcastle boss Steve Bruce has vowed to carry on for as long as the club’s new owners back him in the midst of a winless start to the season.
Bruce, who is tipped to get the boot soon, endured a 3-2 pak from Tottenham in his 1 000th game as a manager.
After his side took an early lead, they fell apart in the hunt to get the club’s first Premier League win of the season as the St James Park fans turned on him and called for his sacking.
With three points from eight games, Bruce says of the situation: “It’s not easy... I understand their frustration and how they’ve been for a long time...
“[But] I’m never going to chuck it when we are up against it and in the bottom three, that’s not me.”
He adds: “The people of Newcastle want to see the club move forward.
“All I’ve ever wanted was to see this great club of ours move forward, but that's going to take a bit of time.”
