Steven Kitshoff would like nothing more than for his Springbok front-row partner Vincent Koch to join him at the Stormers.
Koch has been linked with a return to the Mother City for a while now, with his English club Saracens being relegated from the Premiership for salary-cap breaches.
The 30-year-old left the Stormers to join Sarries in 2016 and Kitshoff says of his Springbok pal possibly returning: “He is one of my best mates. He will bring a lot of experience - especially playing in the northern hemisphere for a while and learning a lot from Saracens.
“And then having such an incredible season with the Boks he’s great scrumagger and carries the ball well.
“He’s got a massive work-rate and will bring energy [to the pack].”
REHAB: Steven Kitshoff
The Stormers lost tighthead prop Wilco Louw to Harlequins recently, but still have Frans Malherbe on their books.
And the thought of sitting with the Springboks’ top two tightheads at the union is certainly an entertaining one for every single Stormers fan.
As for Kitshoff, he is hard at work to regain his upper-body strength after suffering a pectoral muscle injury in their last match against the Sharks.
He underwent surgery on March 18 and is hopeful to be fit and ready to go when the season possibly restarts in August.
