Proteas head coach Mark Boucher wants Cricket South Africa to tie down Jacques Kallis and Paul Harris.
The two ex-Proteas were batting and spin bowling consultants for the summer.
And Boucher glo vas dat dit sal dom wees om hulle te laat gaan.
He says: “I enjoyed working with the guys, I spent a lot of time with Jacques and Paul.
“They have done great work, [but I’m] not too sure what’s going to happen with them.
“Hopefully we can sort something out contractually with them”
Boucher adds that he is more than happy with the rest of his coaching staff as well, with Enoch Nkwe (assistant) Justin Ontong (fielding) and Charl Langeveldt (bowling) completing the technical staff.
As for his playing staff, the coach admits they had a tough start and says the door is open to anyone who performs at domestic level.
He explains: “I think one thing that we sort of wanted to do as a coaching staff was to give opportunities to guys where we saw that we could maybe rest a couple of the senior players and in a way almost throw them into the deep end and see what they could do
“I was pleasantly surprised [with their performances].
“Now we have quite a few options and that is good."
