Chelsea have finally signed Senegal goalkeeper Edouard Mendy from French club Stade Rennes on a five-year deal.
British media reported Chelsea paid around £22m for the 28-year-old, who had three years left on his Rennes contract.
Of the highly anticipated move, Mendy says: “I am so excited to be joining Chelsea. It’s a dream for me to be a part of this exciting squad...”
With a trip to West Brom coming up tomorrow, it will be interesting to see what Lampard does with the world’s most expensive goalkeeper Kepa, who has come under heavy criticism for his performances over the past season or so.
The Blues, meanwhile, will be on a high after thrashing Barnsley 6-0 in the League Cup on Wednesday, with new signing Kai Havertz bagging a hattrick of goals.
