Ajax Cape Town coach Calvin Marlin is hoping he doesn’t have to spoel uit his bek again at half-time against Black Leopards in their final PSL playoffs match tomorrow.
The Urban Warriors coach already had to give his players a tongue-lashing after a swak first 45 minutes saw them trail Tshakhuma Tsha Madzivhandila (TTM) 1-0 on Tuesday.
But whatever Marlin said in the dressing room saw his manne revive their bid for Premiership promotion and score FIVE goals in 20 minutes to go top of the mini-log.
Marlin wants more of the same against Leopards, saying: “I’ve been saying that the entire season. I told the guys that at some stage we will give a team five and that was [against TTM]. Now we just have to keep it up.”
Marlin reveals of his half-time team talk: “It was a very frustrating first 45 minutes – we didn’t play to instructions and lacked quality in the midfield to get things going.
“The second half we made a double change and you could see the way the boys came out firing.
“That was due to a bit of a bollocking in the change room at half-time.
“It looked like they were nervous maybe in the first half for some reason.
“Second half they came out and played with very little fear and you could see the difference.”
Siphesile Mkhize got the equaliser before the floodgates opened as veteran striker Eleazar Rodgers scored a hattrick and Chumani Butsaka also scored as the Urban Warriors ran riot.
