Stellenbosch coach Steve Barker has challenged his PSL new boys to be the best team in the league after the coronavirus restart.
Barker’s manne played 24 games and sat four points above relegation before the global health crisis put the brakes on the action in mid-March.
But with Stellies also sitting four points outside of a lucrative top-eight finish, Barker wants his team to look up the table.
Ahead of the August 11 league resumption date, with the Nedbank Cup kicking off again on August 8, Barker tells the club’s Twitter page: “We have six fixtures left. I’ve said this since the beginning of the season, our target has always been 33 points.
“However, I’ve challenged my players to be the best team in the league in these remaining fixtures.”
Stellies were hoping to resume the season at their new home, the Danie Craven Stadium, but instead they will play the rest of the season at Tuks Stadium.
