The Urban Warriors beat Platinum Stars last time out and they are positive that they can still secure a top-eight finish – they are three points off seventh place – with four games left in the season.
Coach Stanley Menzo says: In the back of my head I’m thinking Top 8, but we are not safe just yet so let’s settle that first.
Away from home is always difficult,if we can win our remaining home games and get results away – yes we can finish in a good position
“There was pressure, I wanted the team to return to what we showed late last year. I tried to find that key.”
The Dutchman wants his team to up the tempo in their games too to keep the pressure on the opposition.
He says: “I like to play at a higher rhythm and I like to play in their half with that rhythm.
“The moment you do that you can create more chances, yes we have to work on that final pass.
“It starts with good ball possession, good ball speed – when playing against an opponent that is just ‘waiting’ you have to play at a high rhythm and create your own space.”
Playmaker Mark Mayambela adds: “We are not giving up on a top eight finish, but yes there is still a lot that can happen between now and the end of the season.
“Us as players we had to look at ourselves. It worked well, we are doing better.”
