From 31 August to 6 September 2020, Covid-19 grant beneficiaries can switch from receiving their grants at the Post Office to getting it through their bank accounts or cellphones.
The agency said that beneficiaries should not go to the Post Office before they have received the SMS notification that their funds are available.
Visit https://srd.sassa.gov.za to make the change.
Make sure that the bank account or cellphone number you
provide is registered in your name.
It has been revealed that SASSA has a backlog of 300 000 emails, receives around 1000 new emails every day, in addition to up to 40 000 attempted phone calls.
This obviously frustrates people who are not very impressed with the agency.
SASSA now wants to outsource a service provider to set up a contact centre to deal with the backlog.
How much is this going to cost taxpayers?
Seems like SASSA wants to pass the backlog – whilst millions of South Africans are just hung out to dry.
