Stellenbosch was the bright spark in what was another disappointing weekend for Cape Town clubs in the National First Division.

You might have been forgiven if you forgot that Ajax Cape Town was actually the home team, as they were made to fight back from two goals down to draw 2-2 against Real Kings at Athlone Stadium.

Meanwhile, newcomers Cape Umoya are struggling to find consistent form in the NFD, as they fell to a 2-0 defeat against TS Sporting away at Kabokweni Stadium.

We might have to look at Ubuntu Cape Town’s 1-1 draw against Jomo Cosmos as a point gained, because of their struggles in this campaign thus far.

Stellenbosch, though, came back with a solid 3-0 win over Pretoria University and remained the pacesetters away at Tuks Stadium.
