The whole football world is pressing the shut down button!
I never thought the day would come when football wouldn’t be played.
I mean, the myth around the game is that it was first played during a war using the head of an enemy, but that’s just a myth.
During the First World War, when there was a truce on Christmas Day in 1914. It is said that a game of football between rival troops. Such is the power of the "people's game."
But somehow, the Coronavirus outbreak has managed to bring the football world to its knees and football associations and leagues are postponing fixtures.
Even the world’s biggest tournaments are under threat.

CAF has called off the Cameroon 2021 Afcon qualifiers and the Women’s AWCON 2020.
Fifa are making calls on the 2023 Women’s World Cup qualifiers, 2020 Tokyo Olympics. Even the youth are threatened at U17 and U20 level.
Banyana Banyana star Jermaine Seoposenwe recently signed for Primera Iberdrola side Real Betis has also been affected by the virus.
Primera Iberdrola is the women’s version of La Liga for those who don’t know.
She has found her feet in the foreign lands and has played her part coming off the bench to help her side in the battle for survival in the Spanish top-flight league.

The Capetonian says: ”Spain’s more demanding than anywhere I’ve been.”
Having moved to Spain from the USA, the former UWC star adds: “The players are incredibly talented and are all technically very good, which makes the margin for error in training and games very small.”

“I’m just trying to contribute and do my part for the team so that we can continue to move up the log.”
Their match against Tacon was postponed this past weekend, which means like the rest of the world, she has to keep working while waiting to hear what’s next for league action.
