Freebies don’t come around that often in life.
So when you get one, be sure to take it and say thank you.
That is the case in this year’s Super League A, with the absence of Victorians giving all the teams at least one win.
It will come as a welcome gift to the likes of Paarl, Primrose, NTK and SK Walmer, who have not tasted any success between the four white lines as of it.
That will change this weekend when Primrose host Paarl in a battle that could go a long way in determining both teams’ fate in this year’s competition. Unless it ends in a draw.
Coach Herman Masimla’s Paarl have looked like a team that can run with the big boys and have actually bagged 10 log points without tasting victory this year.

They’ve given their opponents a run for their money in most matches and will fancy their chances against a Primrose side that have not yet shown any bite in the top flight.
Without Masimla, who is on duty with the Junior Boks at the World Cup in his capacity as the Manager of Junior Performance at Saru, Paarl will look to improve on a number of things that went wrong against Hamiltons in their 31-19 defeat two weeks ago.
Paarl created a number of chances, but a lot of 50/50 final passes went to ground, meaning they will look to be more composed when entering the opposition’s red zone.
A team that is dangerous on the counterattack and in open play, they would also like to beef up their defence in the midfield - an area that was attacked by Hamiltons in their previous match.

SK Walmers, meanwhile, won’t have it easy when they travel to Milnerton where they’ll face an inconsistent UniMil side.
Despite playing at home where they will host Durbell, it also doesn’t look like NTK will double their tally in the “wins” column.
In the other fixtures, False Bay host Tygerberg, while Brackenfell will welcome a Hamiltons side that is on the up.
