Springbok coach Rassie Erasmus will reveal his World Cup hand when they face Australia in the Rugby Championship opener at Ellis Park on Saturday.
Still not having named his captain in the absence of injured leader Siya Kolisi, Erasmus will have a press conference on Monday which may shed some light on who will exit the tunnel first against the Wallabies.
The coach is sure to talk about his team needing some time to gel as he will test some combinations.
But at Ellis Park, the Springboks should get the win against the Wallabies, regardless of who takes the field.
The Aussies had their preparation for the match disrupted last week when it came to light that one of their players had been attacked and robbed in Johannesburg.
According to reports, the player suffered a number of cuts to his body.
That will unsettle the Australian camp a bit, as if they needed any more disruption.
The whole Israel Folau saga was enough to divide the camp and with results not having gone their way last year, South Africa will enter the match as favourites.
You shouldn’t expect a perfect performance from the Springboks.
But what you can expect from them is a win.
There simply won’t be any excuses for losing this match at Ellis Park.
