The seesaw battle at the top of Super League B continues this week after Paarl overtook Kuilsrivier in first place last Saturday.
This after two tries apiece by former Blitzbok Danwell Demas, who now operates in the midfield, and flank Riaan “Bitter” Williams scored Paarl a 27-19 win over hosts Primrose.
Kuila, meanwhile, topped the log heading into their trip to Pniel Villager, but lost that match 36-31 after leading 28-14 at the break.
What this means is that Paarl and Kuila are now locked at 26 points each at the top of the pile, with Hamlets in third.
The Mamre team has been flirting with promotion for a couple of seasons already but let slip a slender 15-7 half-time lead to play to a 27-27 draw at Lentegeur against Collegians.
Hamlets have another tough outing this weekend at home when they face Primrose, who will look to bounce back after their defeat to Paarl.
Kuilsrivier will also look to get back to winning ways when they host Rangers, who got their first win of the season last weekend, narrowly beating All Saints 32-31.
With Paarl having a bye this weekend, Kuila can once again climb to the top of the ladder in this encounter.
