Die ding het geruk at the Rosina Paarwater Stadium last week as hosts Bellville completely outplayed visitors Macassar to beat them 46-22.
Coach Warren Isaacs’ team registered their third win in as many games, meaning they are the only unbeaten team left in this season’s Super League B tournament.
Having klapped league newcomers Busy Bees 54-22 in their first match of the year, Bellville then also got the better of Vineyards away from home (27-25).
Entering last Saturday’s match, Macassar were on the ultimate high after a stunning victory over high-flyers Helderberg the week before.
But they were met by a determined Bellville outfit, who looks to be a shoo-in for a return to Super League A at the end of the season.
Another team that is looking for promotion to the top flight this year is Kuilsrivier.
Kuila beat struggling Belhar 39-6, with their visitors suffering their second defeat in as many weeks.
Having also lost to Goodwood the week before, Belhar have now only bagged two wins from five outings and are down in eighth place on the log.
Elsewhere, Franschhoek ran in try after try to beat All Saints 61-19 and Hamlets notched up a half-century against Young Peoples, winning 59-8.
The men from Franschhoek have a tougher assignment on Saturday when they travel to Helderberg in the only Super League B match of the weekend.
