Always on the lookout for an eye-catching makeover, Bobby Nitro spotted this stylish and unique vehicle.
Following in the track marks of a customised Volvo XC90 dubbed “The Beast” that impressed at the 2019 Festival of Motoring, this customised XC40 has been nicknamed “Beast’s Baby Brother”. Well, when you’re onto a good thing...
Made in partnership with fashion designer Rich Mnisi, the compact SUV was launched recently in Jozi.
Charmagne Mavudzi, the head of Volvo customer experience, says while The Beast was the most extreme XC90 ever seen, “ready to take on the wastelands of a post-apocalyptic landscape,” the Baby Brother is anything but.
It’s a definite city slicker, a trendsetter in its fully blacked out wrap with a satin black-on-matte black zebra stripe and green leather door inlays and the designer’s signature logo embossed on the headrests.
Mavudzi explains the launch of Beast’s Baby Brother celebrates the start of a social media campaign by a brand called #HiddenGem, built around one pertinent idea: that, after all we have been through, summer and the ability to move are more precious than ever before.
“The need for us to work together to limit the spread of a virus has given our perspective of safety a new meaning. This summer we will take to our cars ... to enjoy the beauty of the outdoors safely once again,” she says.
