Killarney International Raceway smoked last weekend with the final of the World Rallycross season being hosted at our track.
Johan Kristoffersson took podium in his Polo R, wrapping up his record-breaking season with a dominant win at the event. This, after taking 11 of the 12 rounds.
Thousands of enthusiastic spectators were treated to two days of non-stop drama and excitement in hot and blustery conditions, with spins, crashes, rolls, split-second finishes, heartbreaking car failures and shredded fibreglass.
“I have to say today is quite emotional,” admitted Kristoffersson afterwards. “It’s been a fantastic year for me, really the world championship title sinks in a little bit more now.”
