Suzuki is celebrating three decades of success with its Vitara model with the introduction of a refreshed model range this year. The Vitara has been popular in SA, with a noted combination of high safety levels and affordable pricing.
Although many of the upgrades are in design, the range introduces Suzuki’s new turbocharged Boosterjet engine tech in the form of a 1.4 turbo petrol engine.
Exterior changes include fresh front design, alloy wheel options and LED light clusters at the rear.
The interior comes with new creature comforts, including premium soft touch material around instrument panels, hardy yet luxurious seat trim material and a new 4.2-inch full-colour LCD info display. There is a second touchscreen that sorts out the audio, as well as smartphone integration and reverse camera.
All models are fitted with seven airbags, continuing the model’s rep for enhanced family safety, as well as three-point seatbelts for all and ISOFIX anchorage points for child seats.
Customisation comes easy with a large catalogue of over 80 goodies to choose from. Roof racks, tow bars, cargo partitions, custom door sills and the like are on order.
The Vitara starts at R218 900, going all the way to R374 900 for the top model.
