As winter starts to set in with its cooler temperatures, that environment changes somewhat, creating challenges for drivers such as mist and driving with the early sun in your eyes.
But just making a few changes can make a big difference. For example, make sure your headlights are on and operational, raise your seat to reduce glare, keep that windshield clean inside and out, slow down to suit the driving conditions, and most importantly, when driving, ONLY drive.
In other words, do not mess with your cellphone or do anything else that deviates your attention from the road. With the extra challenges winter can provide, including slippery roads, your driving needs all your attention, and as humans we actually do not multi-task well, if at all.
The cellphone has fast become a major cause of crashes, is it now time we reverse this trend by taking positive action to get it out of the way. And if you have to, then pull over. The change begins with you.
