Just like with football, the Kaapse Klopse also have a transfer window where troops sign up new stars for the coming season.
This year is no different and already we are seeing some teams signing on top manne to help enhance their performance.
It is usually the top teams, or as we say, the manne with the geld, who make the first moves.
Baruch Entertainers have now acquired the services of Tashrique de Villiers on the moppie song.
De Villiers has a moppie record second to none and after just two years on the scene shot to stardom when he won with the song, Maria, while with Rangers singkoor.

Since that win, he made waves at District Six Entertainers and most recently at the All Stars, when he scooped top prize with the English moppie, Thabo.
De Villiers, aka TDV, then took on the theatre stage in the klopse musical, From Satin to Sequins, as well as the critically acclaimed show, Aunty Merle: The Musical.
De Villiers is one to look out for this coming season and Baruch made sure they found their new star.
The other signing which stands out is that of Challa Mundhir Mckriel by the ‘Da Boss’ Waleed Hendricks and his West London All Stars.

Mckriel was the band leader for District Six Entertainers last season and has now made the move to the carnival winners.
Mckriel is probably the best on the road and he is one of the most talented band leaders in the fraternity.
He has the ability to carry any klops with his band, Impronto, so this is a huge signing for West London.
Daar issie ’n klops wie nie sal likes om vir Challa on board te het as band leader nie.
With Challa’s arrival at West London, many of us wonder if Lorenzo Blignaut, better known as Lenny, would stay.
Lenny has opted to make the move to District Six Entertainers, which I feel is a good choice.
It is difficult to share your creativity in this fraternity and as brilliant as Lenny is, he deserves his own space to work in, so the move to D6 is in his best creative interest.
The Playaz, who will be in only their secon d klopse season this year, have also jumped out early and have already acquired their combine and comic coaches for the season.
This week they announced on Facebook that they will be using the services of Mubariek Alexander as their combine coach.
Mubariek has one of the best ears in the business and an impeccable record as a klops manager at the Happy Boys.
He knows what first prizes should sound like and has proven his ability to bring a choir to first prize tone and diction quality.
The Playaz also have Adiel Dante on their moppies for this season.
Adiel is one of those talented young coaches who has a great future ahead of him.

He has lifted the standard of Starlites in the Malay Choir competition, so much so that we saw them going to the Top 8 competition after many years.
This was purely on merit and the hard work put in by young Adiel.
The Playaz will be tough competition on the singing items this year with the combination of these two coaches.
The All Stars are also getting a fresh start to the season for the moppie, pairing Tolla De Beh and Waseef Piekaan.
These are the big signings so far for the season to come and they are sure to make things interesting this year.
In my experience, good early signings usually make a big difference come carnival time.
With that said, I can’t wait to see what other developments are in store.
Die ding gaan ruk.
