Q Dear Auntie Pearl, I’m really now gatvol of people judging me.
I’m 20 and my berk is 38 years old.
Is there anything wrong with this?
He is a kwaai ou, very respectful and never forcing me to do anything that I don’t smaak, even in the bedroom, if you know what I mean.
My mother is OK with the guy because she has met him and can see for herself that he is a good one.
The problem is that apparently mense are skinnering about us.
My mammie told me her friends have been talking to her about it and that they say the whole neighbourhood is judging us.
I know there is an 18-year difference, but is that a reason for people to stiek hulle noses in our business?
Do I need to give up my love and find a guy closer to my age?
From Wendy J.
A Luister Wendy, if you have found a good man, you hold on to him no matter what other people think or say.
If the age gap doesn’t bother you, and your mammie approves of this guy, then go for it!
Mense gaan altyd skinner en onbeskof wees about things they do not understand or are jealous of.
If you smaak this kwaai guy and he treats you right, then don’t waste your energy worrying about others, put your effort into the relationship.
Keep your nose clean… soon the mense will see this is the real thing and get over their judging gedagtes.
