Ingredients

7x250ml cake flour

10ml salt
-
30ml sugar
-
2 pkts instant yeast

30ml butter
-
±750ml warm water

Glaze 1 egg white lightly mixed with 5ml water
Method

Preheat oven to 200°C and prepare two loaf tins.

Sift flour, sugar and salt into a large bowl.

Add yeast and run fingers through flour.

Rub in butter into flour with the fingertips to resemble breadcrumbs.

Make a well in the centre and gradually add in lukewarm water.

If dough is too dry add a little more water.

Knead the dough well for 15 minutes until smooth and elastic like.

Lightly oil a large bowl and place dough into bowl and cover with cling wrap.

Leave to rise in a warm place for about an hour.

Punch down dough and divide into two equal pieces and shape into loaves.

Place dough into two greased bread pans. Brush lightly with glaze. Allow to rise in warm place until double in volume.

Bake in heated oven at 180°C for 35-40min.

Remove from oven and cool down.

Serve as desired.
