Spice Mecca
Dough:
2 cups cake flour
125g butter
Pinch of salt & pepper
3 tsp baking powder
1 cup milk
2 eggs
Method
Place flour, salt, pepper and baking powder in a bowl.
Rub butter into it to make breadcrumbs.
Beat up eggs and milk and add to above to make a soft dough.
Filling:
1kg tenderised steak
3 green chillies, chopped
1 tsp salt
½ tsp black pepper
1 tbsp Spice Mecca Steak & Chops
1 tbsp Spice Mecca BBQ Spice
100g butter
Method
Place all ingredients in a pot and cook until very soft.
Cool, then chop the steak into small pieces.
Additional:
3 tomatoes, sliced
2 onions, sliced (rub with ½ tsp salt then squeeze out the water)
2 green chillies, chopped
1 to 1½ cups of mayonnaise
Method
Grease oven pan and spread with half of the dough.
Spread steak over dough.
Layer onions over steak, spread the mayo over it and cover with sliced tomatoes and chopped chillies.
Cover with the rest of the dough.
Brush with beaten egg and prick with a fork.
Sprinkle with sesame and poppy seeds.
Bake at 180ºC for 30min or until golden brown.
