Ingredient
- 420g wholewheat flour

5ml bicarbonate of soda

5ml salt

250ml all bran flakes

250ml grated raw butternut

125ml sunflower seeds

60ml sesame seeds

60ml honey

1 egg, beaten

500ml buttermilk

Topping: Seeds for sprinkling
Method

Preheat oven to 180°C. Grease a medium loaf pan.

Combine the first seven ingredients together and mix through well.

Make a well in the centre of the flour.

In a jug mix honey, egg and buttermilk together and add all to the flour mixture.

Mix the dough well by beating the mixture in the bowl to a soft consistency.

Spoon into a prepared loaf pan, brush with beaten egg glaze and bake at 180°C for about 1 hour.

Check bread with a skewer before removing from oven as the inside of the bread should be dry.

Cool down on wire rack before slicing.
