
Ingredient
- 420g wholewheat flour
- 5ml bicarbonate of soda
- 5ml salt
- 250ml all bran flakes
- 250ml grated raw butternut
- 125ml sunflower seeds
- 60ml sesame seeds
- 60ml honey
- 1 egg, beaten
- 500ml buttermilk
- Topping: Seeds for sprinkling
Method
- Preheat oven to 180°C. Grease a medium loaf pan.
- Combine the first seven ingredients together and mix through well.
- Make a well in the centre of the flour.
- In a jug mix honey, egg and buttermilk together and add all to the flour mixture.
- Mix the dough well by beating the mixture in the bowl to a soft consistency.
- Spoon into a prepared loaf pan, brush with beaten egg glaze and bake at 180°C for about 1 hour.
- Check bread with a skewer before removing from oven as the inside of the bread should be dry.
- Cool down on wire rack before slicing.
- Serve as desired
