For me, thinking about Easter means lekker chocolate-filled baskets that you can smul on for days. That’s now beside the spicy hot cross buns and pickled fish.

All that, and the idea of being home with family and friends while it pours outside, makes it one of the most celebrated long weekends in South Africa.

This year we might not get rain over Easter due to our drought, but the food will definitely be there, mense.

If you are as obsessed with chocolate as I am, then Easter is a major bonus.

I consider myself lucky, because my hubby and kids are not chocolate lovers, meaning I get the bulk of that goodie basket.

My family enjoys chocolate with other goetes inside, like nougat and cream. I think this ruins the choccies, but that’s just me.

I always try and make something special with the kids for Easter. They just want to stir stuff and lick the bowls and spoons, anyway.

In our two-part Easter special, Cooksisters have decided to focus on lovely chocolatey desserts which are easy to make and easy on the pocket, too.

I think the Bunny Butt Cups are going to be a hit with the laaities, and they should also have a lot of fun putting together the giant Easter egg cookie.

My mond water al klaar. Just thinking of the prepping, the kids are going to get tough competition in the bowl-licking department!
