This winter is a weird mix of warm days and chilly nights that has everyone confused, including my taste buds!
Cold is not my friend. I suffer from cold feet which can only ever be fixed with delicious dite.
Comfort food in winter is, of course, nothing new.
We’re cold, tired and hungry, but there’s a solution.
Every night before I go to bed, I need to eat something lekker with a great cup of tea.
When I was young, my mommy would bring my tea and two slices of moist chocolate cake, but I work and have no time to bake, so now I have to make do with second best.
I absolutely love malva pudding. It is so deliciously sticky and warm.
This is something my hubby makes regularly and the kids enjoy it almost as much as they do milk tart.
Also on my list is a chocolate snowball, stuffed with caramel and cream. This decadent two-bite snack can melt the heart of a pirate.
I am a lover of beans, they are naturally good, filling and very easy to work with.
Then there’s steak and denningvleis. Both these dishes require time and effort, so I suggest making them on a weekend. Enjoy!
