Ingredients
- 4-6 pieces of chicken
- 6-8 pieces of tenderised steak
- 6-8 baby potatoes
- 2 onions sliced
- 2 peppercorns
- 2 Allspice
- 2 bayleaves
- 1 tbsp ‘Smokey Joe’ Portuguese sauce
- 1 tbsp Jimmy’s Sauce
- Salt and pepper to taste
Method
Wash and clean chicken and steak.
In a pot add the steak and sliced onions and about a cup of water.
Add the spices and cook for 10 minutes.
Next, add your washed and cleaned chicken pieces, and cook for 20 minutes.
Allow the pot to burn and brown a bit at the bottom, adding a spoonful of water at a time, while braising.
Now add the baby potatoes, salt and pepper and bits of water to make sure the pot doesn’t burn, and cook until potatoes are soft and tender.
Then add the sauces and cook for another two minutes and you will have a lovely brownish colour which makes it the perfect braise.
Serve with veggies and white rice.
