Q
Dear Auntie Pearl, I have an embarrassing problem and it’s got to do with my feet.
They are basically peeling off, I’m talking about the skin.
They are itchy and scratchy and sometimes it feels like they are burning and the skin at the bottom of my feet are peeling off.
What the hell is wrong with me?
A
Well honey, it sounds like you have something called Athlete’s Foot, which basically means you have some kind of fungus growing on your feet.
Now I know what that sounds like and you are moerse embarrassed by this, but believe me, it’s actually quite common and can be treated easily.
You can catch Athlete’s’ Foot from someone who is infected with it already, or by touching a surface like a shower, floor, gym changing rooms or swimming pool where the vuil fungus likes to live.
Wearing tight shoes all the time, or having sweaty feet can also put you at risk of getting this nasty ding.
So what are you going to do?
Get some meds from the pharmacist, or if you can go to a doctor, rather do that.
At home, you can soak your voete in some salt water or diluted vinegar, and rub on some tea tree oil.
Wash your feet with soap and water every day and dry them thoroughly, especially between the toes.
Use foot powder on your feet every day, and never wear socks twice.
And wear plakkies when you go to places like public showers, gyms or swimming pools.
