I’m really interested to hear what you guys think of watching the Premier League at the moment.
From my side, it’s just highlighted how important we are as fans and how dead the game is without us.
It should give supporters a lot of confidence in becoming a stronger body, as the fight continues to improve heavy-handed policing, reduce crazy ticket prices and provide better match-day experiences.
Without the transferral of energy from the stands to the pitch, it becomes a bit sterile to say the least.
While there was some decent football here and there over the weekend, I just didn’t feel that buzz.
It’s unfortunate that Liverpool were having one of the strongest campaigns of all time, only to be thwarted by the virus, but man, it still feels like it should have just been cancelled, rather than this “training-day” version.
Of course we were also rudely reminded of the controversy-stricken digital systems that have been imposed on us. I still haven’t heard an explanation as to why VAR HQ didn’t intervene when Sheffield United should have been awarded a goal?
A statement from Hawk-Eye Innovations, who run the goal-line technology, reads: “During the first half of Aston Villa v Sheffield United match at Villa Park, there was a goal-line
incident where the ball was carried over the line by the Aston Villa goalkeeper.
“The match officials did not receive a signal to the watch nor earpiece as per the Goal Decision System (GDS) protocol.
“The seven cameras located in the stands around the goal area were significantly occluded by the goalkeeper, defender, and goalpost”.
But every person around the world watching on TV, the players and the commentators all saw the ball BEHIND THE POST.
CLEAR: Villa’s Orjan Nyland carried the ball into his own net
For god’s sake, the VAR guys have the same feed as we, the watching public, have.
European and relegation places are very much at stake. It’s still make or break out there. Sheffield United will be gutted, as will those clubs underneath Villa who are fighting for survival. Unacceptable!
As was David Luiz’s performance for the Gunners. Hahahaha.
Oh my, what was he up to? And what are Arsenal up to? Mid-table mediocrity at best is my answer.
Watching the new Arsenal Fan TV broadcasts (which by the way are also terrible without a crowd) was possibly the most entertaining aspect over the last week!
And please forgive me as I can’t leave without a quick gloat on Chelsea’s signing of Timo Werner at a great knockdown Covid price!
BARGAIN PRICE: Blues' Timo Werner
Liverpool fans are sticking with the narrative “we don’t need him he chose Chelsea because he’d sit on the bench at Anfield why would we lay out money we don’t really have?”
But what happens if one of your front three is sold or injured?
The same guys who have agents circling around them with offers from Spain.
So you’d use Divock Origi or Xherdan Shaqiri as full-time back-up?
Can you all just admit it, you’re gutted, rejected and hate Chelsea!
Looking at the most recent gossip concerning Liverpool, you’d question all the above.
Its k@k, but here goes a report claims Liverpool want to swap Sadio Mane for Kylian Mbappe.
Oh, and throw in £200m as a little sweetener! I’m not sure why I feel this way, but I just don’t think Liverpool will dominate next season.
Kind of feels like they’ve reached their peak.
Yep, I know, it’s a baseless and annoying opinion, but moving forward from the pandemic, momentum and direction can change, teams like Chelsea are building, City are re-grouping. Roll on next season
