R&B bad boy Chris Brown is in the mang after he was vasgevat in Manchester, England, for allegedly assaulting his music producer Abe Diaw.
Brown was arrested on Thursday, 15 May and he has been remanded in custody until 13 June after his bail was denied.
The arrest comes two years after an alleged attack took place at the Tape nightclub in Mayfair, Central London, where Diaw claims Brown moered him with a bottle, then further assaulted him while he lay injured on the ground.
Reports reveal that the 36-year-old artist had just flown into the UK on a private jet hours before his detention, with the Metropolitan Police acting on information of his arrival.
According to reports, they travelled from London to Manchester to apprehend Brown on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm, a serious charge that has raised concerns about the prospects of his scheduled performances.
The alleged incident occurred in February 2023, when Diaw reported being assaulted inside the renowned nightclub.
Diaw recounted in an interview with The Sun: “He hit me over the head two or three times. My knee collapsed as well.”
Following the altercation, he required hospital treatment and was left using crutches to aid his mobility. In response to his injuries, Diaw has initiated a civil claim against Brown, seeking an extraordinary $16 million (approximately R300 million) in damages.
Brown’s Breezy Bowl XX tour performances are now in doubt, but no official cancellations or changes have been announced to date.
