Manenberg police are on the hunt for a group of dom skelms who robbed a dairy factory in Athlone Industria and left a trail of spilt yoghurt which shows they ran towards Hanover Park.
Acting police station commander, Colonel Zama Sanele, says the six diewe held up staff at the Lancewood factory at gunpoint and stole three crates of expensive yoghurt, a cellphone and a bike.
He says shortly after 1am the men, who are believed to be from Hanover Park, walked around the factory in Endeavour Street seemingly scoping out the place.
“The staff were busy loading the trucks for the deliveries. They walked around the business premises then they approached one of the workers and held him at gunpoint.
“There were six suspects but only one was armed. They took the worker’s cellphone and bicycle that was standing on the premises.”
INSPECT: Six skelms robbed Lancewood factory
Zama says the frightened staff told cops the group was calling for the gunmen to shoot the staff but he did not.
“That yoghurt is expensive, it is R32 for one tub at the shop. When the officers attended the scene, they found that there was a yoghurt trail towards Jakes Gerwel Drive which is an indication that they ran towards Hanover Park.
“We are calling on people not to buy that yoghurt and to rather report the people who try to sell it,” he says.
