A man was stabbed to death in the middle of a busy main road in Woodstock on Sunday.
The 21-year-old man was stabbed multiple times on the corner of Pine and Victoria roads.
Swift action from police resulted in an arrest within hours after his death.
Police spokesperson, Captain FC van Wyk, says a 23-year-old man was arrested and Woodstock SAPS were commended for their swift response.
He confirmed a murder case has been opened for investigation.
“Circumstances surrounding a stabbing incident on Sunday at about 4pm at the corner of Pine and Victoria roads, Woodstock where a 21-year-old man was fatally stabbed is under investigation.
“Sterling investigation by Woodstock SAPS detectives led to the arrest of a 23-year-old man. He is due to appear in the Cape Town Magistrates’ Court soon on a charge of murder,” Van Wyk said.
