Cops have opened a case of assault against the woman who allegedly beat the five-year-old boy from Delft who was missing for two months after he was sent away for the school holidays.
Police have yet to make an arrest in the case.
Following up on complaints of concerned neighbours of the boy’s mother, dedicated cops, Warrant Officer Mikey Daniels and Constable Emile Farao, drove to Gordon’s Bay this week and found Nathaniel Jansen.
He’d been living with strangers in an isolated informal settlement in a bush.
Cops were initially told the boy has been missing for four months after interviewing the woman who had him.
But on Thursday they confirmed the boy was gone for only two months.

Marthina Jansen, 45, of Blikkiesdorp had sent her son away for the June school holidays with her neighbour’s daughter.
Police spokesperson, Lieutenant-Colonel André Traut, says after two weeks Marthina tried to call the woman several times without success.
Two months later her son was still not home, and on Monday, the two cops went to Gordon's Bay themselves to search for the little boy.
“They did not find anyone (at the dwelling) and left a message for the female to contact them.
“On Tuesday they returned and found a small shack in the bush and found the female and her boyfriend with the child.
“The child was dirty and full of marks, indicating that he was assaulted.
“According to the female they didn’t have money to bring the child back to his mother.
“It is alleged that the child was assaulted by this female and a case of assault common was registered for investigation.”
