Two Hanover Park skollies were gunned down in a shooting in Athburg Walk on Wednesday night.
According to a source, two members of the Americans gang were approached by two gunmen who opened fire, killing one of them and injuring the other shortly before 9pm.
“There were several shots fired. The one guy was shot in the back and in the head and died at the scene and the second one was shot in the legs and taken away in a private vehicle. He didn’t want to open a case.”
The source says the first skollie ran to a nearby house but collapsed before he could get inside.
Police spokesperson Captain FC van Wyk says on arrival police found a 29-year-old had been shot and killed.

“He sustained gunshot wounds to his head and back. Paramedics certified the victim as deceased on the scene,” says Van Wyk.
“Police is investigating a case of murder and it has yet to be determined if the incident was gang-related. The suspects are unknown and no arrest has been made yet.”
Residents says while police were attending the scene, they could hear shots ringing across Hanover Park.
“The guy who was killed was raised by one of the leaders of the Americans. He was released from prison in May. He served time for a drugs case,” said a resident who asked to remain anonymous.
