A skelm flopped his way to the cop shop after he was gevang with cocaine in his kapalangs.

Metro police officials attached to the special operations unit arrested a suspect for the illegal possession of drugs in Brackenfell on 27 May.

Metro police spokesperson Ruth Solomons reports: “At around 2pm, officers on patrol spotted the driver of a white Nissan Tiida jumping a red robot on Frans Conradie Drive.”

“They conducted a traffic stop and sought permission to inspect the vehicle.

"While interviewing the driver, officers noticed some bulges in his slides and he was asked to remove the shoes.”

"Police officials confiscated 37 packets of cocaine in both flops, with an estimated street value of nearly R17 000.

"Members also booked in a cash amount of more than R3 000.

"The suspects were detained at the Brackenfell police station for further investigation."

Brackenfell Community Policing Forum (CPF) spokesperson Norman Landry told the Daily Voice that they are aware of the incident.

He further added that the matter is under investigation and the suspect is expected to appear in court on 29 May.

Ward councillor Johann Loots adds: “I welcome the proactive intervention from our Metro Police officers and the subsequent arrest and confiscation of any illegal substances found during the traffic stop.

“Under no circumstances will criminal activities be tolerated and with the quick action from our Metro officers it is even more evident of the added benefits the additional investment in Safety & Security will mean not only for the community, but for every ward in the City.”
