A Parklands duo will appear in the Cape Town Magistrate’s Court on Thursday after being caught with card cloning equipment.
Police spokesperson, Captain FC van Wyk, says a man and woman in their 30s were nabbed after a specialised team of cops who raided their house shortly before noon on Tuesday.
“Members of a specialised unit in the South African Police Service reacted to information received about a premises where bank cards were being cloned. On Tuesday, shortly before noon, the unit assisted by various other internal role players, executed a search warrant at a residence in Fernwood Street, Parklands.
A man and a woman aged in their thirties were arrested after various paraphernalia used to clone cards were confiscated at the residence.”
The duo was taken to the Table View Police Station for further detention and was charged with the illegal possession of electronic devices used to commit fraud.
They will appear in the Cape Town Magistrate’s Court on Thursday.
