Marsha Dean|Published

THE month of June just got a whole lot funnier as the 26th annual JiVE Cape Town Funny Festival returns to the Mother City.

South Africa’s biggest comedy festival showcases the best local stand-up comedians together with a variety of top international acts in Cape Town.

The comedy variety show brings together some of SA’s favourite grapjasse and global acts at the Baxter Theatre for the hele June.

This unique recipe has proven to be a great success, and many audience members have attended every Funny Festival, with some returning two or three times a season.

This is more than just a comedy show, every year performers are handpicked for their unique contribution that will make this year’s overall line-up a grand one. In addition the winner of the JiVE Funny Championship, which is Cape Town’s biggest comedy talent search, will appear on stage at the festival.

Kicking off their run at the festival this week – from 6 to 15 June – are Emo and Loukmaan Adams and friends, Robby Collins, Kagiso Mokgadi, Big Boys and international act Charlie Caper from Sweden.
