A HARTSEER Blue Downs mother is asking for help to find her daughter who has been missing for more than a month.
Shamielah McConnie says her daughter Mishaadien Stemmet, 19, who she described as a street-wise and kind person, was last seen leaving her aunt’s home in Old Woodlands, Mitchells Plain on 7 May 2025.
The devastated mother told the Daily Voice that her daughter uses drugs and that they have a strained relationship due to her involvement in having Mishaadien’s child being taken away from her by social services.
Shamielah explained: “Even though we don’t have a good relationship she would message me every single day.
“If it’s not for money, it was just to say hello, or how are you, or things like that.
“On the day she was last seen I asked my brother’s daughter where she is because the last message I received from her was on 8 May past midnight on Facebook.
“She asked me why I was online so late. I said I can’t sleep and that was it. I didn’t get any messages from her anymore.”
Police spokesperson Captain FC van Wyk said that Mishaadien was last seen leaving a residence in Orpheus Crescent, Woodlands, after being reported as missing by her aunt on 27 May at Lentegeur SAPS.
Van Wyk reports: “At the time of her disappearance she was seen wearing a white t-shirt, denim skirt and crocs. Investigations/search continues.”
Anyone with information on the whereabouts of Mishaadien can contact Detective Sergeant Ivan Ryneveld on 083 648 6239 or Crime Stop on 08600 10111.
MISSING Mishaadien Stemmet was last seen on 7 May.
