Teen Skyler now targets Missy SA title

Bonteheuwel se eie beauty queen, Skyler Abrahams het shaba gemaak at Pageant Festival SA where she represented the Western Cape in Johannesburg.

Skyler, 12 bagged over 15 titles and is now a finalist for the Missy South Africa pageant.

After a health scare when she was only a year old, she survived on an artificial trachea during her early childhood. Skyler is now a force to be reckoned with in the model world and has since been taking over the runway after only joining pageantry in June 2024.

Skyler says: “I have won quite a lot of titles, including Jewel of RSA, National Beauty SA 1st princess, Global Beauty Queen SA 1st Princess and many more. Out of 13 girls I placed 1st princess.

"I feel very happy that I have come this far. And to my community ,thanks for supporting my fundraising events.

"I would describe the competition as very tough because I have never competed on a national stage before. Those girls who I competed with were all stunning, but I stood out and made the top three.”

The next show she will be competing in will be Miss Face of Autism in Stellenbosch in July and in April 2025 she will be competing in the Miss Junior SA pageant.

Skyler add: “The dream I have for myself is to be Miss South Africa and give back to my community and help other girls be as brave as I am. My biggest motivation is my grandma.”

Skyler’s uncle and coach is Martin Abrahams, 30, also competed and was crowned the Ultimate Grand Supreme King and Royal King SA.

He says: “I would describe watching Skyler on the ramp as a very strong model who always gives her best and never feels intimidated by anyone competing against her."

As part of Skyler giving back to the community and doing charity work, a charity drive will also be held on the 10 May 2025 at Oudehout Park Golden Gate anything from toiletries, stationery to tin foods are welcome.
