THREE mense were shot when gunmen entered a house in Woodstock on Saturday.
One man was killed in the incident and two others - a man and a woman - wounded, as three men reportedly driving a silver Chevrolet Spark entered the house in Pine Road, opened fire and then fled the scene.
It is alleged that the deceased man was a gangster from Manenberg, who was said to have gone into hiding from rival gangs in Woodstock.
According to the acting chairperson of the Woodstock Community Police Forum, Gary Adams the shooting is gang-related and the victims are believed to be from Manenberg.
Adams explained: “Three people were shot by unknown gunmen. One male died on the scene, the second victim [male] is in a critical condition and on life support, and the third victim [female], who was shot numerous times in the torso, is in the ICU.
“SAPS are following all possible leads and have obtained video footage of the shooters’ vehicle and entry/exit routes.
“The shooting is definitely gang-related. The rival gang members came for the deceased. They shot him in the head.
“It is not rival gangs from our area who are fighting; it is gang wars spilling over from the suburbs into Woodstock.
“The incident took place in Pine Road at an informal settlement. The guys walked down to the informal settlement, shot up the guys, and then ran back to the vehicle and drove away. SAPS are following up on all leads.”
