FULL FORCE: Cops on high alert after shooting on Saturday

A WAR erupted in Schaapkraal this week, as the suspected main konyne of both the Mongrels and No Fears gangs became targets in deadly shootouts.
It started with the death of reported Mongrels dik ding Ameerodien Du Plooy, who was shot and killed following a shooting between the two gangs last Saturday.
Mongrels gangsters apparently chased down No Fears member Keanan America and then turned their guns on arriving City of Cape Town Law Enforcement officers.
Du Plooy was shot in the face. America succumbed to his injuries after being rushed to a nearby hospital, while Du Plooy was also declared dead at a medical facility.
Then on Monday, Mongrels gang members launched a retaliatory attack on their No Fears rivals.
According to Daily Voice sources, two skollies from the No Fears gang were shot, including the alleged leader Dino Josephs.
As they returned gunfire, things took a turn when cops attached to the Flying Squad in Schaapkraal arrived on the scene and gave chase as the Mongrels fled in Toyota Rumio.
Police spokesperson Sergeant Wesley Twigg confirmed the shooting, saying: “Police members responded to a complaint of a shooting incident on the corner of 4th Avenue and Schaapkraal Road, on Monday afternoon, 6 October 2025, at about 4.35pm, where occupants of a Toyota Rumio, shot at an adult male who allegedly fired shots back at them.
“The vehicle was spotted and a high-speed chase ensued. The occupants of the vehicle jumped out and the members gave chase in Govan Mbeki Road. One suspect was wounded and two others were also arrested.”
He added that cops found the body of an adult male who sustained gunshot wounds on the back seat of the vehicle.
“The male was declared deceased on the scene by medical personnel.
Police said that the death of the suspect is now under investigation by the Independent Police Investigative Directorate (Ipid).
Three firearms were recovered.
According to the source, Josephs transported himself to a nearby medical facility and after queries about whether he was arrested, SAPS did not respond.
