IF YOU missed the sold out Diamonds and Divas event on Saturday, waar was jy?
Ladies of Cape Town gathered to celebrate all things woman and sisterhood, dazzling in their pink and looking, as MC Peadon Smith said, “stunna mamma”.
The young and forever young stieked uit at The Venue in Schaapkraal. The ladies strutted the red carpet and were treated to a tantalising three-course meal.
It was the jol of a lifetime, from Peadon giving away prizes, including some moola, to Mujahid George dancing on tables in his vest.
Cape Flats crooner Fagrie Isaacs swept the ladies off their feet with his timeless classics and Salome sang her heart out like the diva she is, while DJ Rollstoel kept the numbers klopping all day.
Shoes were kicked off, perms was uitgesweet and let’s not forget all the photos and videos that were taken.
Part of the family now are chommies Celestine Zeeman from Silvertown and Desiré Uys from Manenberg, who said they have been coming since the inception of Diamonds and Divas.
Zeeman said: “It has been a great show and a great event and every year it gets bigger and better. It has become our annual event.
“The food is great, entertainment is great and Peadon is awesome. We are already looking forward to next year and what the colour scheme is going to be.”
Uys added: “This is such a nice time to rewind as women and not care about our husbands, children, kind of niks, today is our day. I told all my friends to come. This event is worth it.”
Noorie Allie from Strandfontein said it was her first year attending with her sister and close friends but definitely not their last.
Allie wysed: “This event was awesome from start to finish, we will definitely do it again and advocate for the event.
“We are actually overwhelmed because we did not expect what the outcome will was but it was fantastic.”
This year’s Diamonds and Divas would not have been made possible without our amazing sponsors who sponsored the goodie bags for the ladies, Playgirl (Diamonds and Divas partner), Clere, Nilotiqa Hair, Fundamentals Skincare, Joekels, Exclamation and Diamond Sparkle Detergent.
Natasha Davel from Fundamentals Skincare said: “Fundamentals Skincare is proud to support the Daily Voice Diamonds and Divas event, a celebration of strong and inspiring women.
“We believe in empowering women through self-care and products that deliver real results, and this sponsorship is our way of honouring the resilience and brilliance of everyday women doing extraordinary things.”
