A DELFT man has been sentenced to life innie mang for raping and impregnating his minor stepdaughter.

The Parow Regional Court heard gripping details from the social worker who testified that the minor was 10 years old at the time and pregnant when they had their first session.

She read the heartbreaking victim impact report to the court, as the man showed no remorse for his actions.

It read: “Before I was happy, I had my own room. When I woke up at 07:00 my stepdad had sex with me, he said I mustn’t say anything.

“I used to sleep in my mom’s bed in the middle of them. He said to take my panties and pants off. He then got on top of me and took all my clothes off, put his penis in my vagina a lot of times.”

During her testimony, she was crying as she said the accused, 62, was seen as a father figure to the meisie until he started to sexually abuse her.

The court heard that the minor was raped as her mother slept in the same bed.

The meisie added that she was afraid to tell her mother, because the accused threatened her saying if she did he wouldn’t buy her anything.

The minor told the social worker that children at her school and people started mocking her as her baby bump grew, however she did not know at the time that she was pregnant and then later HIV positive.

The social worker added that when the minor gave birth she was unable to receive medication for the pains as she went into labour late and that giving birth was the worst moment of her life.

She added: "Weeks after giving birth she cries herself to sleep and keeps a photo of the baby. He must be punished for what he did."

The minor is currently in special care. She had hoped that her mother would look after her and her baby, but her child has been put up for adoption as her mother is unemployed.

The accused pleaded not guilty, despite DNA evidence stating he is the father of the child and was sentenced to life imprisonment and unfit to possess a firearm.
