RECEIPTS RECEIPTS: Text messages exchanged between the youth leader and the meisie

A BONTAS Patriotic Alliance (PA) youth leader has landed himself in hot water after he allegedly sexted a meisie and said he hopes to marry her in his next life.
The mom of the meisie who is 17 years old and currently in matric told the Daily Voice that her daughter is highly traumatised by the messages her youth leader sent her.
She said that her daughter, who has been a part of the Bonteheuwel Youth League for two years, starting receiving the disturbing messages last week Saturday.
The mom explains: “The things that he was sending her was very inappropriate.
"I mean he is over 40. He has a wife and has two kids and she is 17 years old. He made her feel very uncomfortable and he even messaged her while she was at school.
“That is when her teacher noticed that something was not right. He spoke with her and then sent her to the social worker and that is when she opened up.
“When they contacted me I went through her phone and I saw the messages and I was very disturbed, because she trusted him as a leader and a mentor. We also trusted him because we knew him and this is the type of topics that he brings up.
“The messages started last Saturday evening after 12 and then it went on and he then messaged her the Sunday as well and she didn’t respond.
"He then messaged her the Monday as well. Dit was amper soos hy dik hou because she was not responding.
“And then he apologised because he saw that she was not responding.”
The mother said that she had approached him on Monday along with police officials telling him how disturbed and disappointed she was.
He then told the meisie’s mother that his messages were not intended to be ougat, but to make her wys.
The minor, who cannot be named to protect her identity, is actively working in the community for the youth and getting mense to join the PA, however she has withdrawn herself following the messages she received.
She has since blocked the youth leader and a case has been opened.
Police spokesperson Captain FC van Wyk reports: “This office confirms the mentioned case. According to reports on Tuesday, 12 August, a 17-year-old opened a sexual assault case against her 42-year-old youth leader, who send her text messages.
“This case was transferred to the Bishop Lavis FCS Unit for further investigation. Investigations continues, no arrest as yet.”
The mom added that she wants the perpetrator to learn some sort of lesson as he cannot be working in politics with laaities when having conversations like these.
The Daily Voice has reached out to the man for a comment, however he did not respond.
The PA have said that they are doing an internal investigation.
