THE mother of Yaseen Adams who was stabbed and shot in Hanover Park on Friday morning claims that her son was never homeless as stated previously.
Yaseen, 28, was brutally killed on his way to his new job at the mosque when he was shot and stabbed.
His body was found by a passerby lying against the wall of the council yard in Downberg Road.
Jainab Cornelius said her son was not on drugs at the time of his passing and has been clean for over a year.
Jainab explains: “It was his second day of work at the masjid. I was getting ready for work when he left the house and moments later around 7am someone came to call me saying that he was lying in Downberg Road.
"People were telling me that they heard one gun shot go off but when I got to the crime scene I only saw the stab wound in his neck, I did not even know yet that he was shot in the back of the head."
"There is not anyone who we can suspect who would do something like this to him because he was a jolly person with respect for elders and always helping people. He did odd jobs in the area.
"He was not involved in gangsterism and used to walk alone. If he lived that life then I wouldn’t have been so hurt."
Police spokesperson Sergeant Wesley Twigg said that the matter is still under investigation and no arrests have been made yet.
