Premier Alan Winde said that Coronavirus cases in the Western Cape have increased by 23 to a total of 393.
The majority of the cases - 321 - are in the Cape Town metro.
While infections are increasing slowly, Winde said.
Infections in Khayelitsha have doubled to two, and Mitchells Plain now has seven people who have tested positive for Covid-19.
“Last Sunday, we announced our first cases in Khayelitsha and Mitchells Plain. We are also seeing an increase in the number of local transmissions and increasing admissions to hospital,” said Winde.
“As of (yesterday) morning, 20 people in the Western Cape had been admitted to hospital, with seven in intensive care facilities.
“While these numbers are manageable now, every single resident needs to join our fight against the Coronavirus, particularly of those who are most vulnerable - the elderly, and those with underlying health problems who will be worst affected.”
