There’s a new social media star in town, and she tells it like it is.
No one is safe from the biting tongue of Menta - not cashiers, bergies, foreigners or even her own friends and family.
But you won’t even mind getting galled by Menta, because who can be kwaad for such a oulike meisie with her “straight hair bob” and big brown eyes?
Menta is the brainchild of comedian Gershwin Williams, 37, the former Kaapdashian Gail, along with fellow comics Devdondidit and Shakir Hansen.
Gershwin says when he discovered a funny face and sound effects app on his phone, it was “love at first sight”.
The Grassy Park father of three boys introduced his new alter ego on Facebook in February and today he has over 14000 followers who watch his videos every day.

“It’s insane that people have related to her so quickly. I went from 600 followers to 14000 within two months, she’s a face you just have to love,” says Gershwin.
“My wife thinks I’m crazy, she just laughs and ignores me but my kids love Menta... she’s the sister they never had.”
People love Menta so much that Gershwin was asked to produce at least two videos every day. And within an hour of posting, they are viewed by nearly 1000 mense.
Gershwin describes Menta as a 29-year-old fun-loving goose who everyone can relate to.

“Menta is outgoing and loves long taxi drives and walks on Mnandi Beach,” he says.
“She’s got more male friends than female friends. Girls don’t like her because she gets along better with their boyfriends.
“Girls are also jealous of her because of her styl hare, her daddy is mos from Taiwan.
“And she likes to take a drink, she loves Savannah Dry.”
Gershwin, who is a qualified electrician, says he likes to make mense laugh because of all the issues they have to face on the Cape Flats every day.

“These days life is so serious and people are always focusing on the negative,” he says.
“To laugh is healthy, so Menta is basically good for your health.
“But seriously, there’s a certain kind of pleasure you get from putting smiles on people’s faces.”
The videos are entirely unscripted and inspiration usually hits when he’s driving en dan record hy sommer, says Gershwin.

“It’s things I see and people’s actions that inspire the stories because we all know the people Menta speaks about in her videos, and we all know a Menta.”
