A young boy is lucky to be alive after he unknowingly walked in on a group of armed skelms robbing a shop in Mitchells Plain.
Three suspects have been caught on CCTV footage carrying out an armed robbery and assaulting the child.
The incident took place in Everton Street, in Rondevlei, Lentegeur on Wednesday just after 8pm.
The three suspects are seen entering the shop wearing caps and blue surgical gloves.
One of the suspects has a shotgun and threatens the shop owner to hand over the money in the till.

While the shop owner does this, a little boy casually enters the winkel, seemingly unaware of the scene he has just walked into.
When the robbers realise the boy is present they start pushing him and shoving him roughly.
One of the robbers then takes the child to a separate part of the shop while the two others continue to loot the till.
As they leave the shop, they drag the
frightened little boy back to the front of the store.

Police spokesperson, Siyabulela Malo says: “It has been reported that three unknown men entered the business premises and
threatened the complainant and everyone in the shop with a firearm and demanded cash,
tobacco and a cellular telephone and fled the scene on foot.
“No shots were fired and no
injuries were reported during this
incident.
“The circumstances surrounding this
incident are under investigation with no arrests made so far.”
