The body of a woman who had apparently drowned has been found floating in a drain on a farm in Schaapkraal.
Cops were called to the scene in Vlei Road on Wednesday morning.
Police said foul play has been ruled out as it appears the woman had drowned.
The drain is apparently used as a water catch tank on the property.
The farmer would not comment on the incident.
It is understood forensic teams worked for seven hours at the scene to recover the body.
Police spokesperson, Sergeant Noloyiso Rwexana, confirms: “A death inquest case has been opened for investigation after a body of an unidentified woman was found yesterday (Wednesday) afternoon in Vlei Road, Philippi, in a drain.”
