At just six months old, this little baby has her parents running after her.
The young Parkwood couple say they are shocked that their baby is already able to walk.
Dad Kyle Herman, 28, says little Sia started walking a month ago, completely skipping the crawling stage.
Kyle says his daughter is clearly following in his footsteps as he was also just six months old when he started walking.
He says he noticed his baby leaning against the bed and furniture when she was only five months old.
“When she was five months old, she started standing, she kept trying to balance to stand on the bed and the floor and then we just saw her walking and there was no stopping her, sy loep die huis plat!”
Mom Shanaaz, 30, says Sia is as brave at the baby clinic as she is at home.
“She doesn’t even cry for her injections or clinic visits, she is one of the bravest and unique babies I’ve ever seen,” the proud mom says.
“Sia started sitting up at three months old.
“This little girl is too much for me to handle, she doesn't talk yet, it's just the word ’Dada’ she says. She also eats solid foods already.”
According to website bump.com, babies usually start sitting up at five to six months, crawl and cruise from about seven months and start toddling from about 12 months.
The couple says their only child turns heads when she walks in the mall.
“She's full of life and very advanced. When we walk in the mall, she wants to be on the ground and walk by herself,” says Kyle.
“People look at us because it looks weird that a baby so small can walk and even try to run.
“She's just the most adorable little person.
“Every morning she wakes us up, gets off the bed and we put her on the bed again but she cries until we get up to play with her,” says the doting dad.
Weighing at 8.5kg with two teeth at the bottom and two peeking out at the top, Sia, who is now seven months old, is giving her parents the runaround.
“She wants to be outside in the street but she is too small. We can't let her out now, she is starting to run,” laughs Kyle.
“Babies her age are starting to crawl and play a lot on their backs but this baby is unique, everything about her is different.”
